Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026.
This website sets no cookies and doesn’t track you across visits or other sites. It counts page views without identifying you (see “Visit statistics” below). The only personal information it collects is what you choose to send through a form, the chat assistant or by email.
What I collect
- Enquiries (speaking, advisory, podcasts and anything else): your name, email address, organisation and the details you give about your event or business.
- Newsletter signups: your email address, and your first name if you give it.
- Busywork Audit downloads: your first name, email address and, if you give it, your company.
Visit statistics
When a page loads, your browser sends a note of which page it was, the page title, the site that linked you here (its domain only), any campaign tags in the link, and whether your screen is phone, tablet or desktop sized. Microsoft’s service also records your browser type and your approximate location (city), worked out from your internet address, which is then discarded rather than stored. It also notes when a form is sent or the audit is downloaded. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device, so visits can’t be linked to each other or to you. This goes to Microsoft Azure Application Insights in Australia and is kept for 30 days.
Forms send what you enter to this website’s own server, which emails it to my team. To keep out spam, your browser solves a small puzzle when you send (no cookies and no third-party service), and the server checks that your email address can receive mail.
The chat assistant
The “Ask a question” chat is an AI assistant. What you type is sent to Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry service, which picks one of OpenAI’s AI models, run by Microsoft, to generate replies, and processes it in Microsoft’s Asia-Pacific data zone. The conversation is cleared from your browser when you close the tab. If you ask the assistant to pass your details on, it emails your name, contact details and the conversation to my team. Don’t share anything in the chat you wouldn’t put in an email.
What I do with it
- Reply to you and continue the conversation.
- Pass advisory and workshop enquiries to the team at Crofti, the consultancy I run, so they can respond.
- Send the newsletter you signed up for, through Kit (kit.com), an email service based in the United States that holds the subscriber list. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
I do not sell your information, and I do not add enquiries or audit downloads to the newsletter unless you ask me to (the audit form has a separate box to tick).
Other sites
Links to crofti.com carry tags that tell Crofti the visit came from this site. Where a page shows a video, only a still image loads from YouTube until you press play. The video then plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
How long I keep it
While the conversation is live, and afterwards only while there is a legitimate business or legal reason. Ask me to delete it and I will, unless I am required to keep it.
Where it is held
In business email and records held with reputable providers, which may store data outside Australia. This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure.
